INTERNATIONAL TEACHER CAMBODIA

ISSP is the best school in Phnom Penh, any other schools in the city represent a significant step down in terms of quality of education and true international education.

CURRENT INTERNATIONAL TEACHER

When I worked here it was a competitive, happy and very productive international school, but staff morale has significantly reduced of late, particularly in the junior school.

Safety, Adaptability & Cost of Living

  • Safety: Fair – Phnom Penh is generally safe for expats, though petty theft and bag snatching can occur. Stay alert and take normal precautions and you shouldn’t encounter any major problems teaching in Cambodia.
  • Adaptability: Moderate – Cambodians are welcoming and friendly, but adjusting to Phnom Penh’s traffic, climate, and variable infrastructure can definitely take time. With patience and flexibility, most expats settle in comfortably.
  • Cost of Living: Moderate – Daily essentials, dining out, and local services are affordable, while imported goods and Western-style housing can be pricier. With a competitive salary package, expat families living in Cambodia can enjoy a comfortable lifestyle and save.
