International Teaching Families is a comprehensive resource for educators and families navigating international education. We’re an international teaching family ourselves. We’ve lived and worked across multiple countries over the past several years. Through teaching abroad, raising kids overseas, and navigating school systems, housing, and cultural shifts, we’ve gained a lot of first-hand experience—and created this site to share what we’ve learned with others.

Our resources are designed for teachers moving abroad, expat spouses, and parents seeking international schools. This space is for:

  • Teachers interested in working abroad
  • Families relocating for international teaching jobs
  • Educators already teaching overseas with kids
  • Anyone curious about international schools or expat life with a family
  • If you’ve ever Googled “best countries to teach internationally with kids” or wondered how to juggle school runs and staff meetings in a new country—you’re in the right place.

At International Teaching Families you’ll find:

  • Tips on international teaching jobs and choosing schools
  • Relocation and moving guides for families
  • Country and region-specific insights
  • Printable checklists and planning tools
  • Interviews and real stories from international teaching families
  • Resources to help you balance work, travel, and parenting abroad

Nope! We’re not recruiters and we don’t list jobs. We focus on sharing practical advice, lived experiences, and helpful tools to support you in finding and thriving in the right role or location (with your family in tow!). Think of us as your behind-the-scenes guide, not your agent.

Our site is a resource hub for international teachers and expat families. We offer insights, tips, and honest advice on everything from job hunting and contract negotiations to choosing the right school and settling in with kids. Whether you’re just starting out or already well into your international teaching journey, our goal is to make the process a little easier (and a lot less overwhelming).

We’re originally from Australia, but have lived in countries across Asia and Latin America. We’ve experienced different school systems, job packages, and cultures—so everything here comes from real family life on the move.

Yes! We love hearing different perspectives. If you’re a current or former international teacher or an expat parent with something to share—whether it’s a full blog post, a quote, or an experience—we’d love to hear from you. Just reach out via our contact page. If you’re interested in submitting a post, be sure to check out our contributor guidelines.

We’re open to partnerships, collaborations, and sponsored content—as long as it’s relevant and helpful to our community. If you’re a brand, service, or school that supports international teachers or expat families, get in touch. We’re happy to discuss what might be a good fit.

That depends on what you’re looking for! Try one of our resource hubs:
