INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS – REVIEWS FROM REAL TEACHERS WITH FAMILIES

Teacher Reviews

Every international school can look great on paper or via a flashy website — but what’s it really like to work there?

Our Teacher Reviews section shares honest, first-hand experiences from educators working (or who have worked) at international schools around the world. These reflections go beyond salaries and teacher benefits to address the real-life details that matter.

What You’ll Find in Our Teacher Reviews

We set up a teacher survey to help get consistent feedback across each school. You’ll find information on each school review about:

  • Compensation & Benefits: Whether salaries are adequate for families, what’s actually covered (housing, flights, tuition for dependents), and the realistic savings potential.
  • Work-life balance & workload: Typical working week, planning/marking/extracurricular commitments, how busy or manageable the role actually is.
  • Family & community support: How well the school supports partner/spouse employment, adaptation help, settlement assistance for kids and families.
  • Lifestyle & local context: How safe the location is, cost of living, how easy or hard it is to adapt, what kind of expat/family life you’ll find.
  • School climate & leadership: Staff morale, leadership stability, community culture, how the school treats teaching families.
  • What kinds of families thrive & what to watch out for: Insight from those who are living it — who fits, who struggles, what setup works best.

How Teacher Reviews Work With Our Independent Reviews

Our ITF school profiles provide a fact-based overview of schools — salary ranges, benefits, accreditation, curriculum, student-body, city lifestyle, etc. The Teacher Reviews add the lived experience behind those facts.

Together, we hope they can offer a rounded, practical view of what a teaching role abroad will really feel like.
